FROM THE BLOG: this is nerdom!
Back in my middle school days, my friends and I used to play D&D during lunch in a dark corner of the cafeteria as to not draw attention to ourselves. I’d whisper, “I want to attack.” The DM would whisper back, “Roll it up. Armor Class is twelve.” I’d roll a d20 and whisper excitedly, but not too excitedly, “Success! Rolling damage!” This trend carried on throughout middle school and into high school as well. I distinctly remember this episode of the Simpsons where Bart ends up getting glasses and is branded as a nerd.
